Collagen induction therapy, or micro-needling, is an effecting non-surgical, non-ablative treatment for all skin types and various skin conditions  such as fine lines, wrinkles, stretch marks, hyperpigmentation, keloid, surgical and acne scars.  This technique uses very fine medical grade needles to make channels into the skin creating a micro-injury.  This injury triggers the body’s own healing process stimulating collagen and elastin, thereby reducing wrinkles, smoothing scars and improving overall tone, texture and color.

While this all may sound very painful, you should know that this procedure is well tolerated by patients and has minimal downtime. Most patients find that they can return to work later in the same day after treatment. Some redness may occur immediately after the treatment, but it is usually gone by the next day. General recommendations are four to six treatments every four to six weeks until desired results are obtained.  A maintenance treatment is also recommended every six to twelve months. These recommendations can vary depending on the individual and the condition being treated.
